A great vid. But, the cliffs were eroding and all manner of things were falling off them, when I was in grade school in Belmont the in the 1950's. So what's new for those not in the know? It is simple, gravity, sedimentary soil, and moving water just do not play well together.

This is outrageous. Who gave these fools permission to build anything near the ocean? All structures should be at least, a minumum of 100 miles from the ocean, or a cliff, or anyplace where tornados or hurricanes, or floods or droughts or high winds, mosquitos or feral cats or....

There are three very noticible observations regarding this coastal erosion, the beach boulders are not helping, the foundations are nothing but soft sand or clay, the houses are constructed with wood. All these are not going to survive strong sea surges. I know when these properties were constructed, coastal erorision was never considered, but as long as the north and south polar ice keeps melting, the seas will rise, and they are rising fast. Only when all the ice is gone will the sea rise stop, and that's not going to be good for humankind, the animal kingdom or weather systems. Scientists have been warning us about this for decades now . They have been monitoring the Polar ice since the 19760's and they were front line witnesses to shrinking glaciers and Ice Bergs, but nobody listened to them. Fossil fuels are the number one contributing factor to climate change, and though EV's are on the rise, we may be too late to stop the complete melting of the Polar ice, ice that has been around for millions of years being destroyed by a species that has only been here for seconds on the evolution clock . We hear people accuse many creatures of being vermin and pests, well as far as I'm concerned, its us Humans that are the vermin and pests, and if animals could talk they would call us the vermin and the pests, and rightly so.

When I see the size of these houses I think "what a vulgar display of money that could have gone towards helping others " . I feel it's ok to have things ; especially when you work for them ; even properties along waters ; however to shut the rest of the world out and deny people the right to experience the coastline is wrong.

Concrete coastline stops all these problems it’s used as a promenade or cycle track and it will be there in 100 years and so will your coastline some may think it’s nasty but it’s better than loosing your home

Coastlines are a fluid thing. Building this close to the ocean is ultimately doomed from the start.

We have a similar issue in Florida, the solution to which is to use tax dollars to replenish the sand on the beaches when the next storm or hurricane wipes it away. Mind you, this money belongs to all, but it gets used to subsidize the properties and adjacent areas of those wealthy who can afford these beachfront homes, and pretty much nobody else. At the same time, the very blue Florida legislature and our goofy governor Ron DeSantis (R) has recently passed a bill outlawing all references to the phrase CLIMATE CHANGE from state law, even though you can now almost see that occuring, in real time. You can't make this crap up...

It's very scary to know that someday that land will slip into the ocean...

We bought a house in Pacifica in 1972. We only lived there for 5 years. We now live in San Diego area. We kept the house in Pacifica because it’s our first home. And we love Pacifica! ❤

Why they allowed housing built in this area is corruption by city managers. All they care about are taxes they will collect on these properties.

Get back! That's what my mom would say when I got to close to something that could be potentially dangerous like fast moving or deep water. So, get back! Stay back and use your legs to propel your huge bodies to the waters edge or the tourists view point. It's a mess!

It will be a pretty interesting next ten years to see what will happen here. As the ocean levels rise, all of these homes will be boarded up and abandoned then washed away soon afterwards! And with that, the sickened oceans will with their bad stomach aches will regurgitate all of the garbage thrown overboard and everything that sank during our wars for hundreds of years and give it all back to us! Mother Nature will throw up on us all !

I think these videos of costal erosion and boarded up luxury homes gives us not a glimpse but a large picture view of the future! Weather we're strong or weak at heart everyone should be watching these videos because it shows us a barefaced truth about what we've done to our planet weather we're living in these situations or not! The rising of rhe ocean levels will eventually affect us all and that is imminent!
